Stinger Cordless Rechargeable Insect Zapper Reviews
There’s nothing quite as relaxing as sitting on the patio or balcony on warm summer evenings or listening to the rain by the window. But, with all good things come some challenges. In this case: insects! They’re drawn to lights in droves and can pose a myriad of health risks to you and your family. Not to mention, they can be incredibly annoying to have to deal with!
If you’ve been experiencing this problem of late, you’re not alone. Wanting to get rid of flies or learn how to kill mosquitoes is certainly nothing new. What’s new is all the great insect killers in the market that can help you do just that. The challenge with purchasing an electric insect killer is that the market is flooded with hundreds of options and choosing one can prove to be difficult when you don’t know what to look for.
Most folks get confused by the wide range of choice and end up buying the first electric insect killer they find. After all, they’re all bug zappers at the end of the day, right? Wrong! The right electric insect killer machine can help you safely get rid of insects in and around the house but the wrong purchase can turn out to be money down-the-drain.
Today we’re going to examine the Stinger Cordless Rechargeable Insect Zapper. This insect killer lamp or lantern, as it is advertised, is a movable electric insect killer that you can carry around wherever you need some extra cover.
The cordless electronic insect killer form Stinger features a ‘lamp mode’ that allows you to use it without plugging in an electric cord; the electric insect killer works 3.5-4 hours once it’s been charged and you can recharge it again anytime you need. As such, you can simply pick it up and take it to wherever you’re going to be- whether you’re moving to a different part of the house or planning a dusk-setting picnic out in the garden. The electric insect killer works on the basis of a rechargeable Lithium ion battery that is guaranteed to give you sustained output for a long time.
The insect killer machine offers a protective cover across an area of 625 square feet, making it convenient for both indoors and outdoors use. It is recommended, though, that you maintain at least 10 to 14 feet of distance from the UV insect killer because it’s so powerful; the insects are going to be attracted by the scores and you don’t want to get caught in a storm of swarming insects, do you?
How the Stinger Cordless Rechargeable Insect Zapper Works?
So, like any UV insect killer, this machine too works on the basis of using UV light to attract insects towards it. But where it is different from other electric insect killers in its niche is that it uses black UV light technology instead of the standard white light. Research has ascertained that black light is 40% more powerful in attracting insects, which means that you can target a great population of flying, biting pests with this electronic insect killer than ever before.
Once the bugs pass through the outer shell, the charged field kills them instantly. Unlike older electric insect killers, the charged grid in this electric fly killer is in the form of long vertical rods and not a square-mesh plate; the design improvement has significantly countered the clogging and crusting problem that users might experience with more traditional electric insect killers. The dead insects collect in the catch tray at the bottom, and this can simply be taken out, cleaned and washed and then fitted back in. Maintenance is as easy as that. The electric insect killer does all the work so you don’t have to chase pests around with an electric fly swatter anymore!
Some Questions about this Stinger Rechargeable Insect Zapper:
Will it works while plugged in?
The instructions say not to turn it on while it is being charged but it does run while plugged in. I keep it plugged up indoors and use the battery outdoors
What happens when it rains? If it’s turned off, can it get wet?
It works fine when its raining has no problems in the rain that i have seen anyways.
Is this Stinger Rechargeable Insect Zapper safe for pets?
Yes it is safe for pets. There is an outer cage so that the electric zapper can not be reached easily. I have a dog and a cat, no problems. The grate surrounding it has very small slits just big enough for the bugs to fly through. They will not be electrocuted if they touch it under normal circumstances. The only danger is your pets would be knocking it off a table.

This bug Zapper is good looking, works great indoors or out. Small foot print, fits on end table. A lot of friends commented positively on it’s looks and operation.
Was a reasonable cost and looks very nice as even a blue nightlight. With bug zapping abilities.
You can use as both night light, or zapper or both. Comes with ac plug adapter, and if needed a mosquito scent attractor can be inserted in a tray, but I do not have a mosquito problem here. Great value.
