Flowtron BK-15D Electronic Insect Killer Reviews

This particular variant is effective across a radius of ½ an acre, so if you’ve got a lot of ground to cover and using devices like an electric fly swatter or a regular insect killer lamp is practically unfeasible, the Flowtron BK-15D Electronic Insect Killer might be just the thing you need.

The Flowtron electronic insect killer works on the power of ultraviolet light that instantly and continuously targets flies, mosquitos and other insects. The UV insect killer is a non-toxic machine, which makes it a safe way to get rid of flies and other vermin. The machine works on the basis of a 15-watt bulb, based on the traditional lantern design. What really sets this particular electric insect killer apart from others in the market is its unique non-clogging trapping grid. If you’ve ever used insect killers before you must have seen how quickly the filters get crusted over with dirt, debris and dead insects. The minute the killing grid gets caked over (and it usually happens fast) the machine stops working and not only is cleaning it out difficult, it’s also disgusting! It can also be a safety hazard, resulting in short-circuiting and combustion caused by insect remains. The Flowtron BK-15D Electronic Insect Killer takes care of all these worries in one fell swoop (and a patented one at that!).

Rated the number one Bug Zapper in the Pest Control segment of Amazon’s Patio, Lawn and Garden offerings, this particular electric insect killer is a favorite with buyers the world over. When you’re buying such a powerful ultrasonic pest repeller, one of the first things that come to mind is the safety issue. This concern is compounded if you have young children and/or pets roaming freely across the property. However, rest easy because the Flowtron UV insect killer is securely housed within a solid shielding pen, keeping the charged element safely out of reach. READ FULL REVIEWS HERE

Is it going to be messy? Many bug zappers leave insect waste strewn about, while others end up sending them flying outwards as a result of the charge field. While they get the job done, it can all be quite messy and icky! Luckily, this is something you don’t have to worry about when you buy the Electronic Indoor Insect Killer Zapper. The electric insect killer contains a neat little tray that all the dead insects drop into. This tray can be removed, emptied and washed easily and makes for very efficient, fuss-free maintenance. READ FULL REVIEWS HERE

Stinger Indoor Insect Trap Reviews – Should read it now before  too late

This insect killer machine by Stinger uses UV white light to draw insects towards it and does not employ any chemicals, thus making it an ecologically safe electric insect killer. Here’s how this electric insect killer works: after the pests are drawn to the light emitted by this UV insect killer they are sucked into the vacuum created by the internal fan. As a result, the pests get caught in the inner trap.

The company claims that once caught, insects will die of dehydration and you no longer have to worry about how to kill mosquitoes and other insects. All you’re supposed to do is clean out the trap tray and let the electronic insect killer do the rest. But does it really work? Let’s find out!

  5. problem with insect killers

I came across your site. I am especially interested in killing mosquitos because of the danger of the Zika virus. I read that the UV electric bug killers don’t work because they attract bugs that you want to keep way. It would make sense in an indoor area since all the bugs are there anyway but not outdoors.

There are a lot of home made fan traps for bugs that seems to work. Netting is placed next to a fan.

The problem with those is the moment the fan is turned off some of the bugs are likely to be alive and sting.

I think the best approach would be a fan electric grid combination which I am going to try and design.

    External traps
These traps are not effective at killing biting insects (female mosquitoes and other insects),being much more effective at attracting and killing other harmless and beneficial insects. A study by the University of Delaware showed that over period of 15 summer nights 13,789 insects were killed among six devices. Of those insects killed, only 31 were biting insects.

Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide and water vapor in the breath of mammals, not ultraviolet light. However, there are now bug zappers that emit carbon dioxide or use an external bait, such as octenol, to better attract biting insects into the light.

Research has shown that when insects are electrocuted, bug zappers can spread a mist containing insect parts up to about 7 feet (2.1 m) from the device.

The air around the bug zapper can become contaminated by bacteria and viruses that can be inhaled by, or settle on the food of people in the immediate vicinity. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises that the bug zapper should not be installed above a food preparation area, and that insects should be retained within the device. Scatter-proof designs are produced for this purpose.
